Give Me Your Eyes

Category: Family

Found this video through one of my RSS feeds. I’m going to use it to highlight our upcoming Africa Missions trip (First Wednesday of November).

Brandon Heath - Give Me Your Eyes from Brandon Heath on Vimeo.

The song has a powerful missions message, and the video a good attention keeper. I think the video is good, a bit cliché, but helps people visualize the message.

Blogging - It’s Hard To Do

Category: David

So I’ve been reflecting lately on life. I’ve got a blog, flickr, facebook, myspace, twitter and you name it other web presence and don’t hardly use any of them. I blame that on not having internet access at home, but I think it is my avoidance of work.

I hate work, however, I think I hate inaction more. I’ve just been skirting the work with busyness to fill the time. I’m trying to change that. What is really important to me? Instead of running around doing what needs done right now, I want to do things on purpose and set an intentional course.

I’m thinking TGD (Getting Things Done) might be a useful method to prioritize my tasks. I’ve seen a bit of it here and there. If you know of another method that works, or what you use, let me know. I’ld like to get up and running on some process soon. I realize that no matter the program it comes down to me doing the work. Here goes nothing.

Yeah, I’m Older

Category: David, Family, Nathan, Ryan

Turned 32 a few days ago. Weeee.
We took a trip out to Chicago and had a great time visiting all the Wanats. It was nice to get together, but it was way too short. I’m not sure anyone has ever said that about a family get together but there it is, it was too short.

On our way out we stoped in Coralville, IA for the night. We stayed at a hotel there w/ a water slide in it. What fun. Nathan only went down the slide once. It looked like he had fun, but he had just gotten car sick, so I’m not sure he was feeling 100%. Ryan was another story altogether, he could not get enough of it, time after time after time after time down the water slide.

It’s definitely not quiet around our house!

My Beautiful Babies!

The boys love their baby sister, Ryan is potty trained, Nathan is talking like a wiz, and Chloe slept all night last night! Our house is busy, our kids are crazy at times, but I wouldn’t change it for anything!

To my amazement, Ryan has taken the terrible 2’s to a whole new level with age 3. Yikes, patience is getting harder and harder to come by. Ryan is a smart little guy and is very creative. He loves to sing, run, kick, hit, punch, play with cars, use swords, pretend guns and jump off the back of the couch. He is pretty much on the go from the time he gets up until we make him go to bed. Ryan no longer takes naps in the afternoon. So Mommy doesn’t get any time to herself until 8:30 or 9 at night. Some days that is just fine and others…well, let’s just say Ryan is lucky he’s so darn cute. Ryan says he wants to be a police officer because he wants to shoot bad guys and drive a police car. He only has one stipulation - he wants 2 guns, not 1, but 2. I tried to tell him that police don’t get to go around shooting bad guys, but he says he’s going to. Look out bad guys!

Nathan is adorable. He is a daddy’s boy and no one else will do! Not even me. He loves to color, wrestle, run, play with cars and irritate his brother. He will do everything in his power to get Ryan to wrestle with him and loves to take Ryan’s toys and run away with them. Nathan is just like I was when I was his age…down right ornery! He too is lucky he’s a cutie! Nathan out eats his brother at every meal except breakfast. He likes to push Chloe in her swing. Most of the time he is gentle, however, there are times he tries to get her going at mach speeds.

Chloe is eating and sleeping great. Last night she slept from 9 pm to 5 am! Chloe was dedicated at church today. She was so cute in her cousin’s little gown! You’ll have to check out the pics! Chloe loves her mobile, the ceiling fan and her fish on her swing. She loves sitting upright and looking around. Her most favorite thing to do is sleep on Mommy. She is happiest when she first wakes up. She is all smiles and loves to talk. She gets a little crabby towards bedtime, but in general she is a really great baby. She likes her baths and having water sprayed in her mouth, but hates getting out and really doesn’t like to have lotion put on her. We are looking forward to introducing her to friends and family out in Vegas this summer!

We hope you all are doing great!

Love,
The Wanat’s
